You probably do it without knowing it. Very easy, hammer-on is where you slam your finger down on a string to create the note, pull-off is where you just lift it off. Some pull the finger laterally off the string to give it more oomph, others just lift it off quickly.

nope! lol...i must admit though, i play the guitar ALL THE TIME but i dont know any of the technical stuff. lol
Sure i know the names of a few chords but i usually play by ear.
