Yes, Byrnes was good back then, but this show wouldn't stand a chance in today's world of pageantry. I was a senior at Richland Northeast High School this particular year, and I remember just being awed at their sheer sound. But their marching, unmusicality, and guard work wouldn't stand a chance today. Competitive marching has definitely grown...for the better in my opinion.

@DJDeCiBeL01 i wish byrnes could get back up to this level...things really arent the same..i really think its just the laziness of the students, plus how old mac is getting...

I went to Easley from '97-'01, and I can def. say that, while I hated Byrnes then, I was always in awe of their sound and all around greatness during that period. It's just not the same now.
