The CBC is 100% state-owned, and reports directly to the federal cabinet, which also appoints its leadership, under a mandate prescribed in Canadian broadcasting law. It is funded (almost entirely) by taxpayers, at the whim of the federal government. It is regulated by federal regulators who themselves report to and are appointed by the federal cabinet.

What's wrong with what Heather Malluck said? Ever since it came into existence, Fox News has been pandering to the mean and/or dumb and making sure they stay that they stay that ways. The fact is, Sarah Palin cost McCain the election. I knew people who were ready to vote for him until he chose Palin. They were appalled at her stupidity. If he had chosen an intelligent Republican woman, he might be president today.
