Since that is my father singing (two left from Robert Stack), I can say "definitely not gay!" I am hoping that "gay" was intended here to mean "happy." If you have seen the movie, you would recognize the scene for what it is: a statement of national patriotism by exuberant young airmen!

What on earth makes you think they are gays in a gay bar? Have you never even seen the movie? They are just WW2 soldiers.
