  • Alton Brown is my HERO. :x Does anybody know -what- he's got that's sublimating or did I miss that comment somewhere?

  • graham crackers. lol

  • What did he DO to them?! :O! I feel like this is something I ought to try at home. XD

  • He threw them in some liquid nitrogen. That's why there's a bunch of smoke.

  • whoa, is that safe?

  • o_o I don't know...

  • Alton's a genius. Do u know he gets no money at all from the tv show? Only from the sale of his books, DVDs, knives and appearances. So, show your support, and buy Alton's stuff.

  • All money he gets from Food Network goes right back into the show. He makes his money from personal appearances and sales of books and dvds. There are links on his website to articles about him that say that. Also, I think there's a youtube of him on the big deal saying that.

  • @mistamustard If it were seriously dangerous they wouldn't even let him do that at a live performance. Sticking you hand directly into liquid nitrogen YES is a bad idea, but the food only has a small amount on it which upon entering his mouth IMMEDIATELY turns to vapor in the same way sudden extreme heat turns water directly into steam.

  • @shk9664. Uhhhh...no. You can't do the same thing with dry ice. Dry ice is frozen CO2(carbon dioxide) and is a solid not a liquid. You CANNOT handle dry ice with your hands, not even dreaming of putting it in your mouth. It will seriously hurt you. It causes chemical burns almost like acid.

  • JUST an FYI: Putting liquid nitrogen or something frozen in liquid nitrogen in your mouth is relatively safe because somehow the expanding gas from the object protects your mouth from the extreme temperature. SWALLOWING liquid nitrogen, on the other hand, will burn the heck out of your throat and the expanding gasses will burst your digestive tract from your larynx to your pyloric valve. That's one to grow on, kids!

  • @blackberryjuice1 Considering that our atmosphere is 78% nitrogen gas, I don't think it is dangerous except when liquid. Things that are frozen are just that....frozen and not dangerous. If I'm wrong.......well then I'll accept my wrongness with humility. =)

  • @Mana19 It's not smoke, and it's safe enough.

  • @blackberryjuice1 yh its fine, th nitrogen evaporates as soon as you take it out of its containment

  • @Mana19 Yes its basically just like eating air

  • I knew he was funny... now I know he has "Suicidal Rock Star" devotion... I, personally, don't put food, soaked in Liquid Nitrogen, in my mouth. For a laugh. He's a Wild Kook.

  • @oromethehuntsman fuck you

  • DING DING DING

    You, sir, are correct!
