(October 26, 2009) Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Chris Gerdes, discusses how the prototype-driven approach to vehicle research led to novel ideas for diagnostic systems which naturally evolved into a vehicle capable of sensing the friction limits of the road and, ultimately, autonomous driving and rally car turns.
