Stu Thomas solo (aka Stu D) performs an obscure but great Lee Hazlewood number, "The Girl On Deathrow". He's playing a Burns baritone guitar.

Captured on film by Gina Robertson in The Powerhouse as part of the Queensland Music Fest, Brisbane 19 July 07, at a show called "La Cosa Nostra", curated by Mick Harvey of Birthday Party and Bad Seeds fame.

The song was actually credited to 'Duane Eddy & his orchestra. Vocal by Lee Hazlewood' when released as a 45 on Jamie Records.
It featured in a film entitled "Why Must I Die".

RIP Lee. So long, ride on...

  • This song, "The Girl On Death Row", was credited to Duane Eddy, with Lee Hazlewood on vocal. Written by Hazlewood, Duane is playing his Danelectro guitar on the intro and outro.
