Today I will teach you how to set up your RF (radio Frequency) consoles. This includes any consoles such as Atari 2600, NES, Super NES, Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive, Intellivision, coleco Vision and more!

I'm using my Sega Master System to demonstrate. The same concept applies, the only difference is that the frequency will be different.

If you still have any problems after this, please send me a message about the problem. Thanks =)

  • Hey, just a quick question for you.

I picked up a second hand Master System today, got home and rigged it up.

I played with these as a kid so im quite used to the manual tuning thing, however i cant get a solid picture or sound.

When i skip over a certain frequency i get glimpses of the sound at best but no solid picture and when i turn the console off it goes completely fuzzy so im sure its the right tuning.

    What would be causing this?

  • @M15577 Possibly a dodgy RF cable. Sometimes if you angle the RF cable you may get a clear image. Hope that helps!

  • I try to manual tune my Sega Mega drive and every channel and I don't even manage to find a poor signal to play on, any advice?

  • @IllHyena It could be the RF cable. Are you sure it is on analogue?

  • @IllHyena also coming to mind, sometimes wiggling the RF cable can help.

  • you are the BEST! one question though... tuning it on analogue doesnt change anything in my digital channels does it? probably a stupid question but im just making sure. and when analogue tv gets shut down can i still use it for the sega?

  • @bellaITALIA312 Actually, the only flaw with the digital TV is that a light phaser gun will not work.

  • @duckyjr1337 they both play the same games and carts

  • @mrbeanchannel Well i ended up trying a VGA cable and it prety much had the same result but a little clearer.

The Image was split over half of the screen, the colors are all choppy and the sound doesnt play.

I pulled the sega apart to look around the output, but it all looked fine to me.

  • Wait, is the sega master system II the second mega drive or second master system or its own console

  • What if my analogue TV doesn't have a manual setup? I've toyed with my settings and the RF unit but nothing changes. Help!

  • This video helped me alot. I just followed your steps, we even exactly the same tv. lol. Thanx!

  • the picture is not coming in clear! but i try to wiggle th cable in tv and just goes ape shit!

  • Thanks a lot. I got my snes working. Just used auto tune!
