How to unlock the alternate ending is to fight Etna this battle at 3-4 Tragedy Land and defeat this demon lord Beauty Queen Etna. Being at Level 1000 One-thousand, she can be difficult to beat your first Playthrough of the game a.k.a. the 1st first cycle.

I used a strategy here with my units levels being somewhat low to fight a level 1000 boss... However this map offers a neat little maze and off along on side of the map is an Island, this is the Island I used to defeat her. By throwing her upon it, even if I was not strong enough to win, I could still use at least a range three Hand to steal her equipment with a Thief. To do this would make your party strong for the coming episodes throughout the game. Magic is stronger then brute force, physical. So I decided to build up combo's with level 40 to level 80 units. If I had more Magiancs I would have used them, but what I had was enough.

Unfortunately, Etna is Immune to status ailments, poison especially... So that means no easy victory here without being strong with tough equipment. Those Prinnies are a nuisance and can still work against you, that's why I felt like Prinny Bowling, Throwing them at the others making them explode on impact. Then...

You win the battle, victory, Etna blows a gasket as she lost and is obviosly upset about it, the game ends with her credits and ending. I decided to use Japanese dub for this part for some reason, but all in all. I wanted to use a low level army to overthrow her and figured I could, I examined all sorts of methods but determined the most successful to utilize that Island 2x2. Enjoy, that's Etna's music in the game.

- Etna ( エトナ Etona ): The devious vassal from the first Disgaea. After a fight with Laharl, Etna resigned from her position as vassal and became a Demon Lord. She is now in Veldime alongside her infamous Prinny Squad in order to defeat Zenon and obtain the title of Overlord. Even now, she is as devious as ever, using Adell and Rozalin to get to Zenon before any other Overlord does. However, she cannot stand being called flat-chested. - Etna quits her position as Laharl's vassal after a fight with Laharl over pudding (which is supposedly a rare delicacy from the Sea of Gehenna) and becomes a Demon Lord, taking the Prinny Squad with her. She then travels to Veldime, hoping to eliminate Overlord Zenon, the God of All Overlords, and runs into Adell and his party in the process.

@narutohinataashgaara One of the endings in the game, yes. This is Etna's Ending which occurs early on in the game if you manage to beat her rather than lose. Losing to Etna progresses the story of Disgaea 2 just in case you didn't know. There are 12 or 13 chapters if I remember correctly, and Etna's ending occurs in Chapter 3.
