Bulgaria: Millet People

SOUNDS OF GLOBAL WORSHIP:
BULGARIA, TURKISH SPEAKING MILLET PEOPLE

About 100,000 people of Bulgaria's 7,000,000 population are Millet who form the Turkish people cluster. They primarily live in the Kurdhali Province and along the Danube River in southern Bulgaria. The Millet are mostly Islamic with 80% being Muslim.

When Bulgaria became a Democracy in 1990 a Christian spiritual awakening swept through the Millet people, and about 15,000 are now Christians. This was not produced by missionary activity from the outside. Rather, it appears to be a sovereign work of God characterized by dreams, visions and healings.

This video features one of the new worship songs that have been birthed out of this young church.
