Pearl Peeling Process

An arcane art-form performed by few people these days. It involves the removal of a pearl's outer layers in order to discard "damaged" layers and reveal a beautiful pearl. This process is done by Manuel Nava Romo, a pearl farmer from Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.

@boots1ish Depends on many factors...such as: 1) how many cups of coffee/tea you had in the morning; 2) how much time you have to do it and 3) how problematic is the pearl itself (each pearl is different). In this case it took about a week, working between 1-2 hours daily.
