Bird -Parrot - Missing since 08 - Austin

Missing parrot-need your help - reward- Spicewood Springs/Bull Creek Stillhouse Canyon Area- I have heard of lost pets being found after years. I want to be one of these stories and still wait the return of my pet bird.

Thank you so much. There are a lot of green birds in Austin but mine has an orange beak and a mauve chest.  He is very distinctive as he also has the black markings above and below his beak. The other green birds are Monk/Quaker Parrots. They have a grey chest. I appreciate any help.

I am sorry I didn't ask before. Did you get your bird back?

no. we live on a small island and looked for weeks/months. not one sighting. after several months we decided to get two! they are great. we still check papers and classifieds... probably forever. NEVER GIVE UP!

I still have not found my bird. I am finding some birds are found. Did you post on Craig's List?  Also, 911 Parrot Alert? I know of 2 found parrots already and some small birds. I have not given up. I had hoped it would not take this long. I just can't give up. The volunteer from 911 Parrot Alert said that she knows of a bird found after 18 months. I don't mean to give you false hope. I would never have thought to look on Craig's List until this happened.

No. My friends & I have passed out about 500 flyers. This is on Craig's List and in the Statesman. Even strangers have called to say they will look for him when hiking trails. Others have sent emails to their friends. I have had a couple of calls from people who have seen a green bird. I have been so touched by the kindness of strangers.

our thoughts and prayers are with you. we lost our african grey (luca-toni) in october. NEVER give up and always think positive. they want to stay close, put the cage outside if possible. GOOD LUCK!
