  • Any writer who can bring in Chesterton is a hero. I didn't care too much for the few stories I'd read in the original run. It was a little dark and sometimes necrotic for me. But since then I've collected the whole series in paperback, and it's one of my favorite series of all time. I'd definietly recommend it to people into fantasy and mythology and magic. Thanks for the review.

  • @Stepper11 Thanks for the reply! I know some ppl feel the series is pretenious, but I had fun reading it.

  • great review, you were very clear & you gave an overview of the story that did not reveale too much but enough for your audience to understand what the book & characters are about so if they are intrigue they can pick up it for themselves. My thoughts on the second vol of sandman was that it was worst than the first. this book is soo boring i had to put it down constantly. it cant just tell a simple story gaimen just has to throw in many narrative gimmicks that it makes my head hurt to read.

  • @juggernaut44 Thanks for the kind words! I would say you kinda have to be in the right mood to just sit down and read some of Gaiman's work.Try Dream Country but stay away from 1602.

  • Oh,and also the original Death:High Cost of living mini.

  • have you read the rest of the sandman comics

  • I've read Dream Country and various random issues

  • gilbert reminds me of fiddlers green visually...similarly in the kindly ones panel to panel hal resembles lucifer....i guess by then they had perfected dropping hints......i have to say i counted all the charachters in the kindly ones to make a play and there are over 50 charachters...thats quite a lot.......i think its a shame in the trade paperbacks the letterss to the editor are not included because a lot of questions are asked and answered that add to the depth of enjoyment....duma is cool!!
