It's not really based on the X-Files, it just uses the same genre. Like Conan the Barbarian and The Lord of the Rings are both fantasy but you can hardly argue that one is an homage to the other. Apologies if I sound rude but when you say "Based on the X-Files" It sort of invokes imagery of stat sheets in the back for Mulder, Sculley, the cigarette smoking man, the lone gunmen etc.

Have been interested in Delta Green for a very long time though I've never read it or played it. Great review. Thank you for the information. Browsing your other Delta Green videos as well. I may have to pick some of these books up.

Eden Studios' Conspiracy X 2.0 is another conspiracy game worth checking out. With some creativity one could use that to do some Delta Green-ish using the Unisystem.

@Catachan1brainleaf I heard that in one of the novels that actually happens. Theres a small faction of the fan base that things the two would merge.

Great review as always. I notice the posters are back on your wall.
Delta Green was written before X Files was screened the similarities are entirely co-incidental. I think 'meta plot' as you describe was an invention of White Wolf publishing I can't think of any prominent examples of where this concept was overly important in role playing before this time.

@dayvandal Delta Green was printed and published a full 4 years after X-Files started so it came out in its prime. Granted that pagan may have started work on it before 1993 but its clear to see the influences.
Yes White wolf pretty much did invent the meta-plot as a concept but it has been used successfully by alot of company before and after.
