Never having heard of this band I just bought Desert Shallow Effects on impulse (serious impulse - the cd was 1 cent on ebay and had 40 seconds left to auction when i stumbled across the page). After watching this video I realize.... this may be the greatest thing I have ever done. :D

So I'm thinking that the dog parallels his owner, who's in love with this half-japanese chick even though she doesn't return the feeling. They're both tied to their fates/emotions (loyalty/love) because its just the kind of creatures they are, even if its done at the expense of self-harm
