Back to basics! A simple performance using just the Minimoog knobs. Pure analog.

Voyager OS runs through MF-104Z analog delay, with the external loop of the delay running through the MuRF. I've patched the mod wheel to control delay feedback and MuRF envelope shape, with some CV modification courtesy of the CP-251.

Annotated for the curious (and as an excuse to mess with iMovie).

  • Man that sounds nice, rich and smooth and clear. And those filters....yowza.

    Love the Moog.

    Great experimentation piece.

  • @richardbates1 We're in agreement on that, I really love the sound of the Voyager. Glad you liked the vid!

  • Sinister but exciting! The sort of music for a film about being chased by something scary. I like the contrast of the rich bass with the higher, brighter sounds.

  • Ha! I love your descriptive narrative. Thank you Laura :-)

  • Great Job! The Delay sounds incredible! Much better than my behringer vm1 (a memoryman clone which costs less then the eighth of a MF-104Z )!

  • Thanks! Yeah, the 104Z is a seriously expensive delay, but it's an instrument unto itself. Nothing beats those Bob Moog circuits.

  • @br0therl0c0 I was thinking of "Pitch Black" a film about people trapped on a planet where animals eat you when it gets dark...Or "Predator" about a soldier being chased by an invisible enemy! This music could also be used in many Doctor Who episodes.

  • you must have been really blazed.

  • Usually I start programming and I get to the same places. Im using an Ash Lunar select and I don't really mess with pot mapping and programmable sources persay. Id rather patch programs up manually, spaghetti style. The Budget isn't allowing for all the modules that stuff like this leads us to. (2 of all Foogers and sequencers)

    Post some more vids!

  • I tried that program on my Voyager (minus vx351) to see if I could get a similar tone (only) and one thing that I thought was interesting was changing the filter pole and the spacing as well...if you are going from the left ourput. Still hard to say if I got a similar tone. I don't have the murf but I do have the 102 and it made for some interesting textures.

Its taking it way far away from your approach when you activate the 3-1FM. That really basic stuff I don't ever think to do.
