This episode I talk about choosing a good woodsball gun.

A common misconception about paintball guns that is that

There are guns meant for the woods
There are guns meant for airball/tournaments

The only true woodsball gun is a Tippmann with a flatline barrel, everything else is dual purpose.

Don't look past guns like the SLG, Mini, Rail, Etek, Protege, & Intimidator when looking for a gun woodsball gun. These guns work great in the woods, and on the airball fields.

Tippmanns are only for woods, the HUGE loader sticking off the gun doesn't work well on airball fields.

Personally, I recommend skipping the Tippmann's and just going with a dual purpose gun. They are quieter, more accurate, better electronics, lighter, more effecient, they come with better eyes and detents, the list goes on and on

Want my recommendation for a good starting woodsball gun?

Black Proto Rail w/ 14" .693 CP Barrel, Halo Loader, Crossfire 68/4500 HP Tank

Enjoy!

  • tech pb.... you are an idiot. for one any gun can be used in any environment. you can use little ego's in the woods and tippmans for Xball. and quit being so anti tippmann. its the most popular gun in america and the best.

  • yea, except for when the rachet breaks on the A-5 after about 30,000 shots. And they are hardly the most popular guns in America. And for me being an "idiot", there are alot more people listening to me, than listening to you

  • this guy is so wrong in many ways! You have to be a huge pussy if you can't hold up a tippman. Weight is not an issue

  • which is why you own an Ion

  • nice job on the vids i really like them mike but stick to speedsball thats what you know and you have no clue about tippmanns man

  • except that I have owned nearly every single Tippmann gun made going back 15+ years. I've put more shots through my SMG-60 than you have through your regular gun. I've put more paint through my Pro Am than most people have shot in their paintball career. I've been to their factory in Ft Wayne Indiana. I also know that Tippmann makes sewing machines.

Your the one who doesn't know shit about Tippmanns bro

  • all you haters need to shut up cause apparently mike knows more than you because he is the one making the videos for paintballers like ourselves who are new to the sport or do not know a great deal about paintball so quit getting your panties in a bunch and appreciate the information that mike and techpb give us!

  • dear god finally someone agrees with me why i use my g7 and karni in the woods....

  • what happenes when ur running through the woods and drop ur ego or somethin like that and it brakes the board is dameged or somethin. it wont happen every time its dropped but i wouldnt want a 1500 dollar gun brake when i could have exactly what i need in a woodsball gun shooting 15 bps max that cost maybe 300 dollars when some extra super expensive gun also who cares if u have a woodsball gun in a xball game for 15 - 1:30 game it reallly makes no difference. Thats just my opinion

  • While mike isn't all knowing, he knows a lot more than you, i tried using my a5 on a sup'air field and i got absoloutley owned, its not possible.

  • stop bitchin everyone. i guarantee that mike knows more about tippmanns and woodsball than almost everybody commenting. watch his other vids and learn something about him before you fucking bitch at him for something you know nothing about..
