Obama: I'll veto funding for the troops

It is critical that the Congress send a final bill to the President's desk that provides certainty to our men and women in military uniform, their families, small businesses, homeowners, taxpayers, and all Americans. H.R. 1363 simply delays that critical final outcome.
If presented with this bill, the President will veto it.

"Service members will not get paid and a significant number of Defense Department civilian employees will be furloughed, a senior Obama administration official said Wednesday in a conference call with reporters.
That is the administration's most definitive statement to date on whether troops will be paid if the government shuts down. A shutdown will happen if Congress does not pass a spending measure to keep agencies funded once an existing stopgap measure expires at midnight Friday."

I always, always appreciate your videos, and I think that your "rant" was cool, calm, and collected, which given the subject matter is very rare. That being said, I think the GOP is just as to blame as Obama. I guess you could argue that it's a matter of perspective, but it feels to me that the Republican controlled legislature was holding the budget for ransom in hopes of getting programs like CPB and Planned Parenthood cut.

This video has absolutely nothing to do with Democrats, Republicans or Libertarians or any other political party. Hey Doc. I only have a few things to say sir. First and foremost. ROGER THAT!!! and THANK YOU for voicing your opinion in this venue. These points COULD NOT be stressed more to the masses that don't understand what this would say to the men and women AND their families who put themselves in harms way EACH day so we may enjoy the things that most of us take for granted.

Actually, my only concern was people, the service member and their families . . . they are the ones making the sacrifice and consequently their welfare and security should not be table. Unlike the Tea Party people who believe there leaders are actually on the side of the people and are too blind to see that there politicians work solely for corporate interest aswell. They do not believe in free-markets like they love to espouse, because once they get into office they will impose monopolies on their biggest donors to weed out any competition. Get rational humans to obtain irrational perspectives is what propaganda is meant for. Sadly many Americans don't realize this.

This also illustrates that corporate propaganda is more effective on the right. These are good and positive ones. Obama is anti american and has a severe hatred for the US military as he has for our Constitutional Republic. He needs to be gone in 2012 with all the rest of those leftist politicians! I am an Army veteran and appreciate your respect!
