When I was 7 I became aware of how scary death was. The idea of the Sun dying was the scariest thing I learned and it haunted me for a week. I'm glad I wasn't the only one, obviously I never talked about it.

I bought this...thought it was heart felt, but a bore. I brought it back and then after a few days, missed it like crazy so I went back and re-bought it. I haven't watched it since, but I'm so glad I have it.

i hated this movie

I thought this movie was stunningly boring, disjointed, and had a pointless plot.

Lol...what's this I'm seeing? One of the few movies that Confused Matthew actually likes, and we all disagree with him?
Ironic much?

Yay! I thought this was a great movie too :D Very underrated, in my opinion. Why are people so intolerant of these gentle, thoughtful films these days?? Give me 'Where the Wild Things Are' over 'Transformers' any day!

This movie could have been a total classic if they worked on the script more. Beautifully acted, brilliant puppets, superb cinematography - hollow script. Too bad.

What?! This movie was an absolute P.O.S.! I was really hoping for more, but it was.

i couldnt stand that shitty movie

@confusedmatthew I don't think this movie is too dark or too scary for kids. I think might be too dark and too scary for adult because of the complex and dark undertones that kids won't pick up on, if that makes sense.

You might say there is a lot of symbolism in the Movie.
I agree that this is a very good movie, but how can you criticize The Incredibles for not being good for kids and praise this one. The Incredibles had a lot of fun moments for kids to go along with the dark tones, while this one was almost all dark. I mean the film opens up with Max chasing after a dog screaming with a fork in his hand. I thought he was going to butcher that dog like something from a horror movie.
If I had little kids, I wouldn't let them watch this movie until they were older.

@cetrix1 As soon as I saw the opening scene to this movie, I literally shouted "OH MY GOD, SOMEBODY STOP THIS KID, HE'S GONNA STAB That DOG!"
I'm not exactly sure how good this movie would be for kids. I had concerns that it may be too intense or scary for them, and apparently so did the studio. The difference between the two films is that I felt that this one accomplished something. It was dark, but it had highs and lows; whereas I felt the Incredible had only lows.
