Flight Officer Robert Jeep, of Waco, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at Hillcrest Hospital. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Born in Omaha, Neb., Robert attended Nebraska schools and studied geology at the University of Colorado. In 1943, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he served as a glider pilot during World War II. After participating in four invasions: the D Day invasion in Normandy, and invasions in Italy, northern France, and central Germany, he was awarded the European Service Medal, Air Medal, Three Oak Leaf Clusters, and a Bronze Arrowhead. He also participated in the liberation of a Nazi concentration camp. In 1947, he married Patty Sleeper of Waco.

Robert was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Victoria; and teenage son, Robert Charles Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Patty; daughters, Elisabeth of Austin, and Robin Frances of Dallas; grandchildren, Christopher Corsbie of Austin, and Alexandra Hohenlohe of France; and two great-granddaughters.
