My Chowgrirl likes water too. She can swim and does so in the sea behind my house.
The strange thing is that she is afraid of rain and wont go out when its wet outside!

Chows are very stubborn dogs. My friends dog is so cute though, she likes to run around barking at strangers but as soon as she feel a droplet, she comes running inside the house!

You created a great non threatening environment for your Chow in the water. He did it at his own pace. Very smart. We all know Chows are independent. Do not liked to be pushed into anything. Kudos to you.
