no, it's the other ways around. the qeej come from the miao and the tai people adopt it. not all tai people play the lusheng. the lolo-tibetan also adopted the lusheng.

If you look at it, many Tai groups play the Lusheng, but not all Tai groups. Many Lolo groups also play the Lusheng like the Lahu, Yi, Akha. Think about it, all these non-Miao groups play the Lusheng, the Miao people live close to them. The Miao people are the only people that use the lusheng for funeral and burial ritual.
