http://on.fb.me/BeSafePhillyFacebook SimplexGrinnell's NICET certified electronic fire alarm inspector performs a fire alarm control panel (FACP) battery load test according to NFPA 72 standards. Once the technician removes the battery from the panel, he connects it to the load testing device. During the test, both the load readings and voltage readings are continuously monitored. Upon completion of the test, the device will give a percentage of the battery that is still considered good. Generally, batteries receiving a percentage of 80% or higher are considered passing. According to NFPA 72 code, electronic fire alarm control panel (FACP) battery load tests should be conducted on an annual basis to ensure proper operation.
