Stratford to North Woolwich See this now defunct railway in full action mode.
Witness the trains as they stop at every station on this now closed section of the North London Line.
See inside and outside the "Silverlink" trains.
Also DLR and London Underground Jubilee Line trains feature.
The line has been replaced with phase one of the DLR extension to Woolwich.

  • One of the best things I have seen on YouTube.Super editing, music, and you caught just about everything..apart from that crazy isolated high victorian gothic church of St.Mark by the abandoned level crossing in Silvertown.(spire just visible in one shot.Thanks.

  • Cheers Chaps!

  • It Is Good Ol' BH!

  • No it's the now closed trainline from Stratford Low Level to North Woolwich.

There will be an extension to Stratford International, which will be North of the present Stratford Station.

It'll follow the line in this film from Canning town to Stratford.

The section from Canning Town to North Woolwich has had many suggestions for its use, but not DLR.

  • Thanks Tim, was just wondering as there's a Tim Brown in TfL who is responsible for running the Rail section i.e. London Rail of the company, is that you?

  • Apparently some of the route will reopen as part of Crossrail.

  • @lionsheart8 There was a museum there now closed, it was supposed to reopen but hasn't happened so far.

Some of the display cases went to the Epping Ongar Railway.

  • @Andyhinds It was because it was so tedious. 28 stops in 22 miles and you'd go round twice in an average turn and three times on a Saturday afternoon in 9 hours with one 20 min break. I couldn't wait to get into the main line link and drive real trains.

  • It's true I use to love the journey's from Stratford to North Woolwich I use to belike another world, I swear there use to be a museum at North Woolwich too?@Welwyn22

  • Why did you hate it?@Andyhinds

  • that was an excellent service if it went from north woolwich to stratford

  • What a fantastic clip. very well put together. Well done

  • Fantastic! This has been put together really well. Shame they closed that line, but it wasn't making any money, but still a shame

  • I used to drive those trains on that route from 1989 to 1992. I bloody hated it!
