@pastyllita im from argentina too and i do jiujitsu judo mma and tkd and stop showing off asshole ill beat u like a pinata

@OriginalWhiteTornado nothing to feel bad about... its just that most people assume that tkd is mostly feet, and in some aspect it is cause the world has changed TKD when it became an international sport, but keep in mind the roots, the original tkd which is still being used is feet and hand... no bias of one or the other... i cant really speak for karate, but i believe they are both phenomenal martial arts

@tenjinnim My bad then, it came off as "if you're not doing this exactly, you're brainwashed". And it's not really a stereotype. Both arts use both techniques, but each prefers one to the other. I was taught to use feet for technical reasons rather than just "this is taekwondo, no hands". I can't really speak for karate, but I've been told, and have seen, that they focus on hands. I've seen both, and that's what I've observed, I'm not believing this through sheer ignorance.

@OriginalWhiteTornado i never talked about you preferring feets over hands for YOUR PERSONAL USE in tae kwon do. The fact that you generalize and stereotype TKD saying that it uses MORE FEET than hands suggest the cultural brainwashing of America. you clearly state "TKD is more feet, karate is more hands" again false. both arts use hands and feet effectively without being biased to either foot or hand --> hence my reasoning to link you the katas and the poomse.
-
@tenjinnim Mee preferring feet to hands doesn't mean I'm brainwashed, just that I'm flexible and have longer legs so it's an advantage in my case. I realize the martial arts I learned have probably been adapted by my instructors, but that's bound to be happen. Things change but it doesn't mean that I know nothing about the art after ten years of it. TKD is more feet, karate is more hands. These are the two big differences between the two and that's all I'm trying to point out.

@OriginalWhiteTornado for more info... please youtube "taekwondo poomse 1 " if you have been doing this for "7 years" you should know this kata... and its not just only this kata... poomse 2,3,4 contain a majority of martialized form of hand combat along with powerful kicks.
-
@OriginalWhiteTornado your still brainwashed if you think that... you dont just use MORE of your feet than your hands. If you have seen the original katas, especially the first kata of taekwondo, it is nothing more than blocks ONLY using hands. americanized TKD has changed and might have evolutionized it to what you know it as today.

@tenjinnim No, I'm not brainwashed as I've been doing taekwondo since I was about 7. I just mean that, of the two arts, taekwondo comparatively uses more feet. Yeah, you do use hands, but for the most part (in my case anyways), kicks are used more often because of the extra range and power. I'm not saying anything against karate (not sure why it'd be taken like that, but just making sure), just that in taekwondo kicks are more prevalent.
