  • Bigger amp..bigger sound. I compared AER amps with L.R. Biggs new amp, but, compared to my old Roland Acoustic Chorus 100, they both had a small box sound. With the Roland, the scale of the sound was never an issue. I play archtops on it...and yes, it has a notch filter...and the reverb has character...it's not digital. It's the difference from hearing an amp and hearing your guitar. How 'bout that guy with the hat?

  • @sclogse1 Thanks for the comment... we would love to hear that. We find the AER's to be truthful and accurate- while some amps do indeed have a "larger" sound, we find that sound to be hyped and unrealistic- often overemphasizing a number of different frequency ranges. There is no right or wrong way to go no doubt, but if you are looking for an accurate acoustic reproduction, Henriksen Jazz Amp, Acoustic Image, and AER all do fabulously. But, if the guitar ain't good, the amp sound won't be

  • Terrible service with AER amps.. They take weeks to open it up, different people work on it, cant get a straight answer and then they try to get out of the warranty and stick you w/tab . Buyer beware.

  • @chlore2004 Sorry that you had such a bad experience with AER, I can assure you it wouldn't have been like that if you bought from us. They went through a brief transition from one distribution to another, but all of the problems that may have existed before have likely been remedied. The amps are extremely well built, very reliable, and if you have a good dealer on your side (like Sound Pure), I can assure you that you will always be well taken care of. Sorry you had a bad experience though.

  • Yes this was a much better interview with Udo...... I am finally selling some gear to get a compact 60 ...I have had it with brand X's and salesman that think they know what they are selling .

Besides its a journey..I talked with TE last year and I expressed my probs with the brand X's and gave me the word on AER , clean & straight , dont waste your time & money on anything but a AER ...hopefully soon I will have one ..Cheers and better interview

  • AER amps are wonderful but I was rather disappointed at the company's lack of response to a concern I expressed about my Compact 60. If I needed another small amp I would probably go for the Schertler.
