Just a quick clip we grabbed on the camera of Bo our Purple Spotted (G. Smithii) mantis shrimp out running around in his tank. He's fully grown at just over 3" long and was bought from Stomatopod.com. And yes, for those who have seen him before, he recently molted and changed into that darker, deeper green color.

  • ah! im getting mine tomorrow! so excited... ^_^

  • G. Smithii are just the best of the smaller mantis shrimps! There's an outside chance this may be Gonodactylellus viridis. Smithii tend to have red raptorial dactyls and yellow antennal scales, which I can't see (though it might just be the video quality). Nevertheless, great smasher; hope it's still around.
