"So come on in, the water's fine!"
When we go to the beach and the water is cold, there are two general approaches we can take to entering it: 1) we can just give ourselves to the deep and dive in; 2) we can first dip a toe, then maybe a foot, perhaps up to our knees and so on. Think of the advantages of the former method: we get in both certainly and completely. With the latter method, the water is no less cold, and it just takes us longer to get in (that is, if we ever really get in), making the experience of cold longer and more drawn out (cause you never warm up until you're in completely). But the biggest draw back is that we often say, forget about it, its too cold and turn back. This is the approach all too many of us take with entering the living waters of Christ--we say, I'm not quite ready to commit myself: I'll give a little bit of myself to Him today, some more tomorrow, and will eventually get there. But consider the problems with this approach: 1) just as the one who enters the cold ocean slowly often gives up and turns back completely, so often do we when we come thus to Christ 2) Jesus said, "behold, I come quickly," (Revelation 22:12) and "will come as thief in the night" when you least expect it (1 Thessalonians 5:2). If you have not committed yourself by the time He comes (that is if He comes in your life time) or before you die, what guarantee will you have of an innocent verdict when you stand before the judgment seat of God on the day of reckoning?
Jesus will accept nothing less than everything. Just as Jesus gave Himself for us completely at the cross and gave His life, so we must meet Him at the cross where he waits for us and give ourselves to Him completely: is it too much for God to ask?--He died for us, can't we just live for Him? He gave His all for you.... now all He wants from you in return is all of you.
The cold you're feeling is just the pain of dying to the world, once you've entered into the water of life and entered completely, the warmth will come.
"But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him" (Philippians 3:7-9).
Nice beat and message! I've liked this song for a long while now.

This is a "modernized" Dallas Holm song for the next generation, but I still enjoy his voice quality. He has been singing for the Lord for over 30 years and he is a rock! Love you Dallas and your sweet wife Linda too! God Bless You! Thank you for posting this.-Stargazer
