Northwest Airlines DC-9-50 (N777NC) takes off from Detroit on November 20, 2007. The flight was to Hartford. The sensation on takeoff was one of the smoothest and most powerful feeling I've ever experienced with the plane just rocketing into the sky. DC-9's are a special breed and its good to have Northwest still keeping them around at least for the immediate future.
i flew on this bird today with Delta (N777NC)!! Couldn't help but notice all of the doubler plates, but nevertheless my ears didn't pop and i could hardly tell it was 32 years old!

I rode one of those a319 and a320 as well as the crj900 back in sept of 08. The Airbuses were roomier but the CRJ900 was definately my fav. The engines had an odd, oscilating sound to them and that little plane felt like a rocket.
