Im originally from Local 8 Toledo, Ohio. I moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2007 and learned how ratty everything is down here. When I moved here they already had the CE/CW program in place. I am completely against the CE/CW idealism because I've seen what it has done here. There is no regulation of how many CE/CWs are hired per a job. For example, I was working on the Maricopa Supreme Court and they had 11 Journeyman (General foreman and Foreman included), 13 apprentices, and 41 CE/CWs.

undercutting us all! Yep, had 6 weeks last year, 3 months the year before..and now they want cheapies to replace us, and we dont' even have work for those already on the books...well unless you're on that sweetheart 'foreman call by name' list!

I noticed they added a CW/CE section on our books. It takes over a year to catch a long call. How much more can we take Brothers ? We did not create this problem. America has changed fundamentally.

@Labormovement For years I was told how past members died for better pay and retirement. Now the IBEW is bringing in construction electricians who work for less pay. Do you think when work picks back up a company will hire journeyman for 40 dollars an hour or construction electricians for 22. The union has gone non union. For lack of a better term.

Please leave,you rat bastards. The IBEW was built on the best of the best who thought of others before themselves, which you seem to be neither. Our quality and skills are being dilluted by greed. The loyalty is leaving as well as the craftsmanship followed by our wages. I will stay and be loved by those that want a TRUE CRAFTSMAN and leave those that don't deserve me.

This is what Locals get when they sit on their hands all these years!

@Utubestir
I haven't done much better in my local in three years. And no one will blame you for leaving...but this is part of the plan by our local management and the International:
To change membership by demoralizing existing members and encouraging them to leave to save pension payout for the older crew and cycle in the new hungry, younger and dumber drones.
