There are some singers like Pavoratti that require a man to produce that voice. and songs where the beautiful voice of a woman is paramount. Instruments: doesn't matter what culture or gender he or she is from, all instruments can be played by both male & female musicians. Santur: my father has had a variety of great female students. This lady in this video plays good, not a pro & her instrument is out of tune: it's harder to tune than it is to play :) good job: 2 thumbs up from Santurman

I've seen many women play Santúr. I think part of the Persian culture is that men and women are equal therefore they both take on the same roles as each other. If you say that it is wrong for a women to be playing a Santúr or implying it, or being sexist, then you are not a persian. You are not part of Iran or persian culture.
Of course - if you are american then you obviously have no sense of humour on persian culture due to mass brainwash of the media.
But Iranians.... you have mistaken.
