Tune title is "ANGRY"
Words by (Lyricist): Dudley Mecum
Music by (Composer): Henry Brunies and Jules Cassard
Composed in 1925.
LYRICS:
Angry, please don't be angry,
'Cause I was only teasing you!
I wouldn't even let you think of leavin'
Don't you know I love you true!
Just because I took a look at somebody else,
That's no reason you should put poor me on the shelf!
Angry, please don't be angry,
'Cause I was only teasing you!
Don't believe a thing you hear, just wait 'till you see,
Then you'll find no cause to show that you're jealous of me!
Oh! Angry, please don't be angry,
'Cause I was only teasing you!
I made a serious error on the title of the band in the video!
On the video I had the name of this musical group as "The Bill Brown Philharmonic Symphony Ragtime Orchestra," but then after I had edited and posted the video I realized that the correct name is "The Bill Brown Philharmonic Syncopated Symphony Band." I guess the reason it's a "band" and not an "orchestra" is that we don't have any violins or a basoon. Maybe next year we can expand the band a bit to include those instruments in order to properly call ourselves an "orchestra."
Band Leader & Accordion ~ Bill Brown
Piano ~ Dave Tucker
Tuba, Piano & Vocals ~ Steve Standiford
Washboard ~ RagJazzMonkey Tom Warner
We had fun entertaining a lively audience in the BIG TENT at the 2009 Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival held every year in Sedalia, Missouri!

Ya got a point! Maybe I'll have to check with the official committee in order to get them to reconsider letting us use the word orchestra instead of band!

It sure deserves the name Orchestra, because they have a Rag Jazz Monkey in their middle. Hein

An orchestra without a basoon? Horrors.

I think it can still count as an orchestra if you get a theremin in it instead of a bassoon. Can I join?

Larisa,
It would be fine with me, but I wonder if there might be some government agency that wouldn't approve.
Them theremins are strange creatures!
Not a lot stranger though than when The Hoosier Hot Shots used to do duets with slide whistle and clarinet, and they sounded pretty good.
I'll have to consult with the boys to see if we can work something out and apply for government permission. haha
