Stephen Spielberg gave that generation that name to promote one of his movies. There is no such thing as a "Greatest" Generation." After being so great, why did they screw things up so horribly immediately after WWII? They were in charge of the CIA, Vietnam, all the assassinations, our currency, everything. Every problem you see today is a direct result of this Stupid Generation's massive mistakes. It's all traceable back to the assholes born from 1915 to 1930. Pretty music won't change that.

At our current point they do put us to shame, but what we must do if we have any hope of living up to them at all is to rise up and answer the call wherever it mat be. Just as our grandparents did. I realized sitting and moping does nothing for anyone, anywhere, anytime.

That genereration puts this current one to shame Reactive. They prove themselves by what they did. Something we can't do even now. I will disagree with Struass and Howe

You obviously know little about educating yourself. Live in ignorance, it's your lose

A little vague don't you think? How about coming up with your own opinion instead being spoon fed everything from someone else's work.

Like those fighting the war on terror, Boomers for nurturing Millenials, so that they can be properly equipted to deal with the current crisis period, Gen X for giving pragmatic leadership and demostrating the surviaval skills that they had acquired during their under-nurtured youth, Checking Boomers Keeping them from Blowing up the world, Trust me The list goes on and on, it all part of Generational dynamics. Perhaps if you read "Generation's" by Srauss and Howe you would Understand better.

Like what?! Has their "contributions" enabled us to survive the way the real "Greatest Generation" has?

"No Generation can fairly be described as better, or worse, than any other. They simply have different locations in history, and thus different needs, desires, fears, obsessions, blind spots, opportunities for greatness, tendencies toward tragedy. Each generation does what it must, within the context of the history and generational constellation into which it was born." Strauss and Howe
I'm 19 going on 20 and I wish my generation would live up to this. I've applied alot of these vaules into my lifestyle. I almost get emotional when it comes to these things. God bless these people

It's our time now. I'm 26, but we have a lot of things to do. I think we'll rival the greatest generation.
