The Bubble Gun Incident
November 17th 2009

my 13 year-old son was awarded this bubble gun for a school fundraiser.
he took it to a friend's house to play with
... and forgot it in his backpack.
Some days later another student goes through my son's backpack and finds it, takes it out at school and plays with it...
He gets caught and questioned about where he got this bubble gun from and he accuses my son.
My son is then asked to write what he feels happened and answers honestly.
He explains he was awarded this bubble gun by the school fundraiser selling magazines and forgot it in his backpack.

The vice principal leaves this voicemail on my wife's phone and sends home this letter.

I'm pretty sure there's a reason why the bubble gun is made of clear plastic to avoid such a situation as this. I think the school staff is just jealous they didn't win something like this as a kid.

Man, I think it is a little excessive for a toy gun. granted a toy gun can also be a deadly weapon you just never know these days as it may have been modified.
