Sung live at the opening of the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney, Australia. The glitch in the audio in the first part of the song was due to a transmission delay.

  • Many outstanding versions of this song. My favorites are 1) Harry Belafonte's, 2) Seekers version with Judith Durham doing most of the singning.

  • I like Judith's voice a lot.

  • Funny, she makes it all really emotional instead of fast and fun like it's supposed to be.

  • @VrgniaMailman a "drop bear" is an imaginary Australian animal from Pratchetts' novels=))) by the way, I am Russian and our government sucks, sucks, sucks=(

  • Beautiful version of Waltzing Matilda, and I've heard many over the years.

  • @VrgniaMailman im sorry to hear that your country is being "horribly mismanaged"....ive heard america is possibly the greatest country in the world, or so alot of americans think so, and a few of my mates think its a fairly decent country. but they say the racism and "ignorance" of some americans ruin it for the rest. and dont you worry about the drop bears, there just an australian thing. when you come here youll find out ;) have a good one mate

  • @LUK3SYboy Sorry, I am not Australian (although I wish I was in many ways, because my nation -- USA -- is being horribly mismanaged), so I do not understand what you meant when you typed "drop bears." Can you explain for me? Thanks.
