Cantal Comes To Englewood

Noted French urbanist Michel Cantal-Dupart visits downtown Englewood with a cameraman in tow. Hosted by Englewoodian Bob Fullilove of Columbia University, Cantal tours Englewood with a group of residents while offering up his own take on our city's design. The resulting video is an insightful new look at the city of Englewood from one of the world's preeminent experts on city planning.

why come to englewood in the wintrer when it looks fugly? you should have criticized the place in the summer, spring, or fall. it actually looks quite attractive then.

I've always hated the parking on Palisade Avenue. It's funny how Dean Street is notorious for its sidewalk sales that are too cramped to be on the sidewalk, instead are on the street. I never really thought about the sidewalk space on Franklin Row anyway b/c their stores only attract me during their super sidewalk/street sales.

no this is englewood in new jersey, but there is one in chicago which is probably much nicer considering that i live in this one in the video and see englewood s a crap whole compared to towns around us

I live in Englewood and this city is becoming a zoo. I have to deviate from palisades avenue and go trhu the residential areas otherwise the traffic is crazy and heavy and the city is also looking dirty.

Actually, at the 4 minute mark, he is on Palisade Ave.

He really likes the treed places of Englewood and the few areas where there are community gathering places and pedestrian walkways. But Cantal also feels that it is a shame that, as you put it, "the crappy ass parts of englewood" are at the heart of our city: right next to bergenPAC and City Hall, the Dean St. shopping area and Palisade Ave. This should be our showcase, not just a place to zoom through,etc.
