This is the biggest remake of a battle ever in Sweden and Scandinavia. The king Valdemar Atterdag of Denmark invades Gotland in June year 1361, most of the Gotlanders didn´t wanted the Danish here so they tried to stop them in several battles. They hoped to get help from the people in Visby but they didn´t show up, the farmers of Gotland stood al alone outside the citywall against Danish soldiers and hired German knights. Around 1800 people from Gotland died in June 1361, this remake was done to honor them who fought for our island 650 years ago.

when was this reenactment done?! i went to Gotland for the 1st time this last summer for Medeltidsveckan and fell in LOVE with the beautiful island and the wonderful city of Visby!
