audio only, live Cleveland Agora August 13,1974. KISS was the opening act for this show, back then they were pretty much an unknown commodity. Rory came out and smoked 'em. RG truely loved playing here, and we always looked forward to losing our voices roaring with appreciation each time he came to Cleveland...
you can here the riff to Deep Purple's My Woman From Tokyo about the 5:00 mark. I have heard RG was working with Roger Glover from Deep Purple at the time, thus the infused riff into this version. Rory never played any tune twice the same way, show to show LIVE....CB

  • I saw Rory Gallagher at the Agora in 1978, and Ted McKenna from The Sensational Alex Harvey Band was playing drums. I'll never forget it. We picked our faces up at the door on the way out.

  • @eraffel LOL...I was there too...Ted had recently started playing on the road with Rory at that time...my face may STILL be there at 18th and Payne....lol...

  • @cb3961... I previously saw Ted McKenna with The Sensational Alex Harvey Band at The Agora in '74

  • I like the Deep Purple part, I think he should have played the 'Lazy' riff though!

  • Great post and a great story too.

  • "Rory came out and smoked 'em." :-)

  • I was at this show...when Kiss came out we went downstairs to the bar. That was the night the Kiss drimmer almost died for smoke inhalation. His drum set was on a riser and the ceiling was too low. Rory was incredible!

  • boy, this is so cool. Clevekand a great music town, (I'm a buffalian), but I always loved Cleveland. And Gallagher played this fantastic Blues tune in your Town? How licky Cleve residents have been over the years.

  • Rory, you are 100% rockin'. May your memory be eternal!!!
