Fresh from the San Francisco Blues Festival 2008 featuring my friend and beautiful songstress Zakiya Hooker, killer Ron Thompson and smooth organist Deacon Jones, who said so cleverly at this annual lunchtime getdown "I'd like to send a shout out to my probation officer out there...and if you haven't pawned your organ or bass at least once then you can't play the blues, to which Ron replied "I don't play bass!"
A tribute to the late great John Lee Hooker.

Enjoy!
While she sings a bit smoother and jazzier than her dad, that band definitely knows who her father was. Yet, I can still see the family resemblance. I can see the shades of her dad in her.
