Rigging the band on a PoleSpear

A question on DeeperBlue.net lead to me making this video. It is an explination of how to tie the band on to a pole spear and the knots like the Manny Puig spears.

Is making this second knot essential? what does it do exactly?.

@CaptMorgasm No, it is not essential. It can be used a couple of ways. You can use it like having two "power settings" or to clip off a line to your float to it. If you clip off to it and you have it ready to fire and you pull on your float or a wave pulls the float, it may move your hand back, but it should not effect your aim as much. if you clip off towars the bass of the band by the end of the pole and the float pulls, your aim is drastically effected.

@Lambycapo This pole spear is a Ray Oder polespear. it's a 3 piece aluminum.

So on the Manny knotted one, would you finish it off by cutting the loop and putting line one it to use on a Ray Odor?
