On June 1 the Alfa Matrix label announced that Front 242 would make an ultimate statement towards abusive audio compression by releasing the free 2-track download, "First moment", in 5 various audio sound quality formats:

1. Mp3 - 192kbit/s (medium quality) 2. Mp3 - 320kbit/s (good quality) 3. Wave - 16bits/44 kHz files 4. Free Lossless Audio Codec (Flac) - for PC 5. M4A Apple Lossless - for Mac

To get this free 2-track download, which hit the online world on June 15, fans needed to register[2] on a special page. Unlike what fans and some media spread, the 2 track download was not new studio material, but 2 live tracks ("U-Men" and "Im Rhythmus Bleiben") in a rather stunning sound quality. Both recordings were previously unreleased. It is rumoured that over 20,000 people downloaded the tracks within hours of being made available.

On June 4, Alfa Matrix announced the imminent release of Moments...[3], a 'Live' recording encompassing the very best of Front 242's compositions. The release is presented as a 2CD boxset and as 1CD which holds 4 tracks in alternative versions not featured on the 2CD box edition. And as a bonus with the limited 2CD boxset, Alfa Matrix will also include the free 18-track CD compilation Sounds From the Matrix 007 with unreleased songs.

The fans who registered for the 2-track download "First moment" were given an extra reduction for 4 days if they wanted to order the packet. The label also confirmed that over 25,000 people downloaded the free tracks.

  • NEVER STOP WE ARE CREATION WE ARE OUT OF CONTROLLLLL

  • @MrAntipattern in those Days the Definition of Techno was given by Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft D.A.F. and their Songs "Moussilini", "Alle gegen Alle", "Kebab Träume" an Remix of "Militürk" by Fehlfahrben and "Verschwende Deine Jungend" .... also a very huge Song of DAF is: "Ein bisschen Krieg" ... Well, not Kraftwerk but DAF had a major influence to Front242, Nitzer Ebb, 15 later to Covenant "Stalker", "Figurehead", "Theremin" and others .... btw: DAF was produced by genius Conny Planck

  • @MagnitudePerson because the word techno was stolen to be used by acid junkies this original techno was renamed after an 1985 Bootleg of Front 242 "Electronic Body Music". Cover and Title was used on the SPV Promo Sampler "Electronic Body Music" in Sommer 1988 with Neon Judgement "Chinese Black", Skinny Puppy "Assimilate", A Split Second "On Command", Cassandra Complex "One Millionth happy Costomer" in Remix produced for this Sampler and different from the Album Version on Theomania, and others
