i am an ardent hawthorn supporter but i love this song because my four daughters have always been fans of the bullies ever since the footscray days. my wife supports adelaide because she was born there but i was born in ireland and have a thcik irish brogue. our bulldogs are named footscray and hawthorn.

This is a great song, but how come they are called the Western Bulldogs instead of the Footscray Bulldogs like when I was kid (Cats fan here)!
And do the Dogs still play matches at Whitten Oval?

At the end of 1996, the new president changed the name to the Western Bulldogs because they thought it would appeal to a wider area of Melbourne. Whether or not it was the right thing to do is still debated, but we're still alive so that's a good thing
We still train at the Whitten Oval.. but it has recently been redeveloped to be a state of the art training facility. Our new home ground for games, is the Docklands stadium, or Etihad Stadium

I knew about the name change, but I didn't know they were one of the teams playing at Docklands. I haven't followed for awhile, but now that I can listen to the audio of matches for free, I am following it again. It used to come on Sunshine Network when I lived in Fla. and then Fox Soccer Channel, but once it went off there, I lost track awhile. I can't believe the Cats finally won a Premierhsip! Hope the Dogs do well.

I can go you one better than audio mate. I just watched 5 games from the weekend on a live internet video stream (I'm in Canada), including the Geelong game and the Doggies game.
