What I found was with all of your head gear on first that you are not fighting with the collar of you jacket to get it all buckled up. Simply throw the jacket on and fasten the collar strap. This may not work for everyone. I thought about what was taking me the longest and how I could change it to speed things up. Just by doing the head gear first I went from 2:30 down to 1:45. Try this; -boots & pants -hood -mask -helmet -jacket -scba -gloves That's street clothes to "on air"
tthey dont need helmets while donning as far as i know, the way we do it in firefighter 1 is turn the air on, throw the pack on, tighten straps & waist belt, throw our mask on, then the nomex, the helmet, plug the regulator in, put the gloves on & were done. our class is able to finish in around 35 seconds give or take a few. work at it bro
guy on the right had his flashhood over his facepiece and no helmets while donning the tank and pack...our class is doin 45 seconds right now and we haven't even hit burn tower yet.

Never heard helmet had to be on while using overhead method? Face shield must be down though.
