Excerpt from the film "Bad Reception: The Wireless Revolution in San Francisco" (2003)

For more information, see www.antennafreeunion.org

Exploring the dangers of microwave radiation used by cellular phones, cellular antennas, and other new wireless technologies, "Bad Reception: The Wireless Revolution in San Francisco" tells the compelling story of residents from backgrounds as diverse as the city itself taking to the streets and taking on City Hall to protest the politically powerful and poorly regulated wireless industry.

"Though there are triumphs recorded here, including an emotional victory over a proposed antenna in the upper Fillmore, 'Bad Reception' ... ominously hints that the fight is far from over." -- San Francisco Bay Guardian.

  • Weak signal cell service = higher output from the cell phone

Full signal cell service = weak output on the cell phone

Industry knows that cell phones cause brain cancers so more towers =better for the cell phone user less EMF exposure thats why they want to put the towers so close together.

who should be exposed more the baby sleeping in his crib or the cell phone user?

  • Your statement assumes that the power density level (what you refer to as 'higher output') is the only biologically active component of the radiation used by cell phone networks. What about the pulsed modulations of digital wireless signals, which are independent of the signal strength?

The wireless industry likes to put towers close together because at a 1900 MHz carrier frequency, they have to, not because they have any concern about the health impacts of their products.

  • "My reception is just fine??" You mean this guy uses a cell phone?

Three words, douchebag: Inverse square law.

Talk on the phone for a few minutes = more radiation than spending weeks within 200 feet of an antenna mast.

Yeah, I know you'll dispute that because you don't know or understand the basics of geometry or wireless propigation, do you?

  • DrBuzz0: We'll admit that 'propigation' is a new concept to us. While we look into it further, thanks for pointing out to those who may not know it that placing a cell phone against your head may not be such a good idea.
