I used to fly the md-11. Now i'm flying the b747. Love those days...

md-11 are unsafe at landing, thats why they have all been converted to freight, and even while freight they bounce and crash alot. in 97 one crashed in newark ewr after such a bounce. its a problem they all know but put up with.

MD-11 doesnt like to land
-
@Stjepan999 I could be wrong but that might be why a FedEx MD11 wrecked at Narita - too much flare (leading to that first bounce), the small back wings, and overcorrecting.
-
not bad landing
-
REMEMBER FLARING IN A SMALL PLANE WILL RESULT IN LIFT,THE MD11 IS REALLY LIGHT AND YOU HAVE TO TREAT IT LIKE A LADY(SENSITIVE),,ON THE OTHER HAND IF THAT WAS A 747,A321 IF YOU FLARE THEM TOO MUCH IT WILL RESULT IN STALL OR FRAME STRUCTURE DMG,
-
@Stjepan999 I'd say that all airplanes have a tendency to bounce if you flare slightly too much.:)

normal landing scene

@coolsax64 Maybe. I've saw the crash, but I think it was because of the wind shear at under 600 meters. The shear cause the plane to porpoise and slide on it's left wing and burst into flames.

at least the pilot can log two landings :)
do people just sit by runways with video cameras waiting for fuck ups?
