ECT is still a dangerous treatment. Can cause long term memory loss, brain damage and kill. And no I didn't wiki that, a mental health facility in Victoria is currently under investigation as many of their patients die of unnatural causes. They use ECT and its causing the deaths.
This is an extremely old video; note it has been listed under "entertainment". How do I know? I am currently undergoing a series of treatment myself, had #6 of 12 today. It is really turning my head around in a most positive way. Now, this is for you, dummies. I strongly suggest that before you expose yourselves to ridicule by venting your uninformed & uneducated opinions oon the web, that you go and get yourself educated on the subject. Google & Wikipedia are NOT appropriate tools for that.
@tominrochester why should i provide you with personal information? if i was intending to accuse anyone i would give u all the info about it. All that i am saying is that it is used on minors i know because i received it as a minor and i know various others in that hospital that were minors that also received it, it was mainly older people but it was certainly used on younger people too. Like i said i have nothing to gain by lying about it.
@MurderousMarta Exactly. You can't even name a hospital that uses this procedure on minors. Don't just throw out accusations without being able to back it up with specific instances and places that are perpetrators. ECT was certainly used inappropriately in the past, and probably there are instances where it is used inappropriately now, but it would be foolish to say that it hasn't helped a lot of people.
@MurderousMarta Give me the name of a specific hospital that does this procedure. 17 is a nebulous age. In NY state, it is still considered an age covered by pediatric medicine (18 & out of school is generally adult), but this is probably different from state to state, so 17 can certainly be considered "adult". So which hospital? I doubt there are many that do it... if any.
@carolinasos I agree 100%.

This video is extremely old. I'm pretty sure people are sedated prior to the treatment.
