I am m2f in Saskatchewan. I also did a small story on ctv but it was short and they edited out all the pertinent things I said (go figure) I am rooting for you sis, I know how hard it gets. Am very proud of you for sharing and trying to create some understanding. the best thing we can do is speak out against Cam-H and file human rights complaints against our health care system when we are denied care. media will love the human rights angle and should be more willing to give you positive media coverage over the issue.. i've remained a very public figure here in Newfoundland since filming this 2 years ago. i have made some progress with my transition, but there are definitely some major road blocks.. all the best! WOW! I have a lot of respect for Jennifer. I´m transsexual myself but THANK GOD I live in the Netherlands where most of the physical changes are covered by basic health insurance. That is not to say that I don´t experience any financial strain whatsoever...still have to pay for hair removal myself. Anyway, it myst be terrible, couldn´t even imagine if you would be deterred from making the changes because of financial reasons.

thanks. it's been a disastrous 2 years for me since filming this interview. i ended up losing this job and took almost a year to find a new job (one that pays half as much). this has severely stalled my progress, as i have not had any electro done on my face, and i am unable to afford the final SRS procedure.. this lack of progress has severely hampered my moods and i am now being treated for depression.

All i have to say is that was the best thing to start to do is go to the media... you will all ways have ass holes but for the rest that are down to earth that could be a start to make who ever relaxed about there feelings on how they feel

this was exactly my thoughts. i often get critisized for going public and doing a story while i was still so early into the process, but at the time, it seemed the right thing to do. and looking back, this definitely was the right thing to do as it made so many folks around me come to a better level of comfort and understanding..

shes got a long road ahead i think or maybe not you never know..with hormones and all ..but the hair line that's a problem..lots of women experience the same thing but its not as common as is with men..hope she does well..best of luck to her..
