I have had this trailer many years, with lots of work done to it. It was a boat trailer at one time. There is many good tips and safety ideas for you to look at. The railing removed off of the one side will allow me to "side load" a atv. The only other things I can think of that possibly do to enhance this trailer is. All LED lighting. Mud flaps on the wheels. New flags and LED flood (floor) lighting. The boards are bolted in (4 bolts) every 14-16". That makes it quite rigid. The liscense plate is mounted on a swivel, that keeps from loosing the plates (liscense) from inpacts. The hiding of the ramps is a very cool idea, I came up with years ago. The spindles are so old they dont make the greasers to fit them. For now it was cheaper for me to go this way other than replacing the axle. All my other trailers I use the marine greasers, and love them. I have seen paint that has sand or grit in it and that is used for traction (painted boards are, bust your butt-slick). I haven't seen it in years but if I really need it I can always go buy some paint and add in some grit or sand. As you can see I have a dozen or two "D" rings to hook up the tie downs too. Just make sure you attatch them to the frame (weld or bolt-w-lock nuts). The way this is built this trailer it should be "trouble free" for many years. And that's the way I like it. I use on this trailer the 2" tie down straps (2" X 16'). The box at the front is full of them, and that should be the only style straps you should use too. Also you can see I keep a spare tire on here, also I have the jack and tools to change a flat tire just in case in the box at the front of the trailer. I have a trailer jack at either side in the back. If I want to unload, and not be hooked up to the truck, I just put the back 2 jacks down and I have a very stable platform now! Use good common sense and you will have a good dependable trailer too.
