Well ok, in the end KTM thougt they would not make it across Russia, and probalby because of that guy that visited them. He took such a journey already and thougt is would be impossible.
For KTM it's too bad they made it on the Beemers. Anyway, Problems with Big-ends on the motorcross bikes are very regular with KTM's.

KTM wins the dakar since 10 years, because they are better than other teams in taking bikes apart at the end of the day. They just have better take-apart-engineers.The bikes are not good at all. Yes. Got it.

you can't take a dakar bike around the world without all that service. Don't need the mention that big-end bearings on KTM fail very often.

@Gias1 Yes.... you are right....And that's why KTM is dominating the rallye Paris-Dakar since the last ten years. Because they suck in long distance offroad rides....:-) KTM is the best you can get for that purpose. KTM did not want the actor pussies ride their bike I.M.O. But you cannot tell that the pussies.

The simply truth was KTM feared their Bikes would not get around or finish the Adventure. In otherwords if you are planing a Biking Adventure dont buy KTM's, go for the better rock solid BMW R 1200 GS Adventure.

KTM is an Austrian company, not Australian. I agree that they made a big mistake not sponsoring these guys though.
