Students, Alumni, and others pay their respects to the late Joseph Vincent Paterno, former Penn State head football coach, at his statue outside of Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pa., on Jan. 22, 2012, after it was announced earlier that morning that he had passed away. This time lapse video is comprised of photos that were taken by Kelley King and audio from the candlelight vigil later that night taken by Amanda August.
@klajcollege
On page 11 of the Grand Jury Report Gary Schultz testified that Paterno forced Sandusky to retire in 99. Sandusky had 2 options: Retire or be publicly fired. Sandusky chose retirement.
QUOTE: "Schultz testified that Sandusky retired when Paterno felt it was time to make a coaching change."
This occurred AFTER the 1998 investigation Sandusky when accused of child rape in PSU showers for the FIRST time. Sandusky admitted to "inappropriate behavior & showering w boys in PSU showers"

On page 16 of the Grand Jury Report "Victim 4" testified about a secret meeting where Paterno told him he would not be Penn State's next head coach shortly before Sandusky was forced to retire(FIRED).
QUOTE"Victim 4 remembers Sandusky being emotionally upset after having a meeting with Paterno in which Paterno told Sandusky he would not be the next head coach at Penn State and which preceded Sandusky's retirement.Sandusky told Victim 4 not to tell anyone about the meeting"

@angryamerican Paterno didn't fire Sandusky. No one could fire him, because Sandusky's charges were dismissed by the DA. He retired instead in 1999. And that is impossible that "victim 2" testified, because that victim has yet to come forward.

@klajcollege
You are woefully uninformed.
In 1998 Sandusky was investigated for having sex with boys in PSU football showers. Sandusky admitted to "inappropriate behavior and showering with boys".
After this investigation Joe Paterno fired Sandusky. A 1998 Police Report is on file.
Then in 2002 JP was informed Sandusky was again "doing something of a SEXUAL nature to a young boy" in the showers.
In the Grand Jury Report a new victim TESTIFIED

@klajcollege
On page 7 of the Grand Jury Report Joe Paterno TESTIFIED that he was informed by McQueary that Sandusky did "something of a SEXUAL nature to a young boy in the showers".
JP waited until the NEXT DAY to tell his A.D. NOT the police.
It then took 10 days to set up a "meeting" with Keystone Cop Schultz to have start to "investigate" what McQueary WITNESSED!
2002 was NOT the first time JP knew of Sandusky raping boys in his showers.
A 1998 police report is on file.

@klajcollege And Joe didn't know of rape, because Mcqueary didn't report it as such to Joe, Mcqueary admitted that in his testimony in December. He basically gave JoePa a G-rated version of what he saw. For all Joe knew, Sandusky was just in the locker showers with a child. Although that is extremely creepy, that is not illegal.

@MarathonVeteran What are you talking about? Sandusky was barred from campus, and the incident only happened 9 years ago. And Joe isn't the guardian of Penn State, choosing to allow who may enter or not. He doesn't have as much power as people think.

@klajcollege Yeah Joe only allowed Jerry to bring kids to Penn State facilities 10+ years after knowledge of the rape...

@MarathonVeteran I think you are confusing Joe for Jerry. I mean I guess if you don't bother reading anything other than hateful blogs, I can see the mix up. Jerry was the one who molested the boys. Joe was the one who reported it the incident that came to him to the head of the University Police. That is why Joe was NOT charged with any crime.

@klajcollege I'd wear a thank you joe shirt too if I supported pedophilia.
